Expressing yourself via the world’s canvas has never been more meaningful than through the creative club of Art for a Cause. The members of this club devote themselves to the betterment of the community, giving their time to public service and financial assistance by organizing artistic fundraisers.
Club President, Jessica Imaz, founded Art for a Cause at the beginning of 2019 along with Co-President Morgane Atwell.
“Our goal is to bring together individuals who have an interest in art,” said Imaz.
She and Atwell see visual artwork as a creative forum through which students may express themselves and show support for community endeavors.
Every club on campus is always seeking new members to bolster its ranks. For those aspiring to get involved with Art for a Cause, follow the Instagram account at @_artforacause_ and text @art4acause to 81010 to join the Remind and get notified of any upcoming events. Despite the pandemic, the club has continued to hold regularly scheduled meetings, utilizing online resources.
The two founders shared one of their favorite club experiences:
“We went to the Carlsbad Artwalk event and spent the entire day drawing the Torrey Pines bridge with chalk on the ground. We were surrounded by beautiful pieces of art and were happy to have been able to represent our school through our artwork,” said Imaz. She and Atwell agreed it was a wonderful adventure.
Art for a Cause offers the perfect opportunity for anyone seeking a cathartic outlet, especially during these trying times. Make sure to sign up using the steps above and stay tuned for future events.
