Senior Siblings

Read a current senior's advice to their younger siblings.

Sarah Kirk: to her younger brother Ben

  • What advice do you have for your brother in regards of academics?

  • It is important, but also not the most important thing in your life. Have fun (in moderation), work hard, and do things that you are interested in.

  • What advice would you give your brother about social life?

  • Don't waste your time trying to be friends with people you don't vibe with. You don't need to be friends with everyone. Find people who make you feel like you and stick by them. (Sorry that sounds cheesy).

  • What advice would you give your brother about overcoming challenges?

  • If it wasn't challenging then I don't thing that you tried hard enough... challenges are goof and you will get through it and come out stronger.

Sydney Weaber: to her younger sister Grace

  • What advice do you have for your sister in regards of academics?

  • Don't overload yourself with classes. Find a balance between challenging yourself and your free time.

  • What advice would you give your sister about social life?

  • Branch out! You never know who you will meet. Talk to your classmates.

  • What advice would you give your sister about overcoming challenges?

  • Don't give up. You are going to have times where you don't do well on a test or you have a lot of homework. Take a deep breath and do the best you can.

  • Feel free to add any additional thoughts/ things you want to say:

  • Try to enjoy high school, it goes by fast. I still feel like a freshman sometimes :)

Claire Conner: to her younger brother Fin

  • What advice do you have for your brother in regards of academics?

  • Take classes that you think you'll be most engaged and interested in. Don't take AP classes for subjects you don't like or don't think you'd enjoy/

  • What advice would you give your brother about social life?

  • Put yourself out there. Commit to more stuff, take advantage of every opportunity because you'll be able to meet a lot of new people and try new things.

  • What advice would you give your brother about overcoming challenges?

  • Just know that to whatever challenge you are going through, there is an end to it, and it does get easier. It's cliche and definitely hard, but try to focus on the positive.
